Rainbow Connection

A therapeutic group for parents of nonbinary and transgender children

What it is

Rainbow Connection is a three-week therapeutic group for parents of nonbinary and transgender children to learn, share, grow, and heal. The group is not about your child—it is about YOU! Nontraditional families in the Ozarks have challenges. As well as unconditional love, parents often have fears, questions, confusion, feel isolated, and sometimes are even ostracized from their extended family. Group therapy is a cost-effective and evidence-based intervention that can help people learn about their own behaviors; practice identifying and communicating needs; feel more confident in connecting with others; and ultimately lead to a richer and more meaningful life filled with love and joy. Rainbow Connection offers participants a chance to safely connect with an often invisible yet growing community. You are not alone—healthy and lasting support systems can be made!

More details

Rainbow Connection meets one night a week for three consecutive weeks from 7:15-8:45 p.m. Group members are pre-screened by the therapist, and it is a "closed group," meaning we will start and finish with the same members; new members are not allowed to join mid-group. It is therefore a three-week commitment. Be assured that the group will be a warm, accepting environment where participants feel safe and comfortable. Fees are $120 per person and must be paid up front to secure a spot. Contact Brian to learn when the next group begins.
